Kedarnath Dham is one of the most revered Hindu pilgrimage destinations in India and one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites of Uttarakhand. It is also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Located in the beautiful Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, Kedarnath Temple is surrounded by majestic snow-covered mountains and offers devotees a deeply spiritual pilgrimage experience.

The ancient Kedarnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,583 metres (11,755 feet) above sea level. According to Hindu tradition, the temple is associated with the Pandavas and Lord Shiva. Kedarnath is also considered an important part of the Panch Kedar pilgrimage.

The journey to Kedarnath involves a trek from Gaurikund, making the pilgrimage both spiritually meaningful and physically demanding. The route passes through the spectacular Himalayan landscape, attracting not only devotees but also nature and adventure enthusiasts.

The temple remains open to pilgrims during the summer and autumn pilgrimage season, while heavy snowfall during winter leads to its closure. During the winter period, the worship of Lord Kedarnath is continued at Ukhimath, where the deity is ceremonially worshipped.
